Every 20 seconds a child dies due to unsafe drinking water. 1040i has made it one of its main goals to end this. In areas where wells are impossible due to elevation, 1040i is building water reservoirs to catch rain water and giving families filtrations systems to bring clear, sustainable water to their homes.
1040i creates opportunities for volunteer teams of medical professionals to provide surgeries (e.g. cataract, OB-GYN, orthopedic, maxillofacial, cancer, hernia, etc.) and health and eye clinics for children and adults in areas where medical care is basically non-existent or the specialties we can provide do not exist.
With many schools forgotten and left in ruins, 1040i’s volunteer crews and educators focus on the construction and repair of schools. Our goal is to provide a safe environment for children to learn and provide them with the tools to do so, i.e. school supplies, desks, fresh paint, and a roof that doesn’t leak.
